According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Verona man was arrested by members of the CAC on August 9, 2024.

On August 9, 2024, the Child Advocacy Center received a report of sexual abuse of a child and the case was assigned to OCSO Sergeant Melissa Bolton. At the conclusion of the investigation, it was found that Jeremy Blowers, age 39, had subjected a male child, less than 15 years old to sexual contact in the Town of Vienna in the year 2018. Blowers was located in the City of Oneida in the evening hours of August 9, 2024, and taken into custody by Sgt. Bolton, OCSO Inv. Alicia Marconi and Rome PD Detective Eric Stevens, all of whom are assigned at the Child Advocacy Center. Blowers was transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court at the Oneida County Correctional Facility. Blowers was subsequently remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.

An order of protection was issued on behalf of the Victim who has been offered services through the Child Advocacy Center.
