According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On December 7, 2024, at about 1602 PM, a Patrol Deputy assigned to the Barneveld Field Office responded to the intersection of Rt. 291 and Main Street in the Town of Marcy for a reported two car motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputy determined that Barbara J. Perkins, 76, of Oriskany NY, was operating a 2022 Kia in a westerly direction on Main Street in the Town of Marcy. Perkins failed to stop at the stop sign, causing her to enter the roadway on Rt. 291. As Perkins entered the roadway, a 2018 Dodge pickup truck, operated by Kevin R. Owen, 32, was traveling in a northerly direction on Rt. 291 and was unable to stop causing a collision, which resulted in Perkins’ vehicle going into a ditch. Perkins was transported to Wynn Hospital for minor injuries. Perkins was issued a citation for failure to stop at a stop sign.
