According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, at around 6:30 am on December 16, 2024, there was a one car personal injury motor vehicle accident on State Route 233 in the Town of Westmoreland.

Aisha Carrasquillo (43) of Rome, NY was operating her Black 2012 Chevrolet Malibu South on State Route 233. It was determined that Carrasquillo’s speed under hazardous conditions caused her vehicle to lose control crossing over the opposing lane and ultimately overturning down an embankment. Carrasquillo was transported to Rome Hospital by COVAC Ambulance where she was treated for minor injuries. Her passenger, Diamante Jackson (23) of Rome, NY was also transported to Rome Hospital by AmCare Ambulance. Carrasquillo was issued a traffic citation returnable to Westmoreland Town Court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by members of the Westmoreland Fire Department, Central Oneida County Ambulance, and AmCare Ambulance.
