According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M.
According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, a Rome man, was arrested on December 28th, 2024, following a larceny investigation.
On December 28th, 2024 at approximately 12:00pm, Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies responded to Runnings in the City of Rome, regarding a larceny in progress. Dispatch advised
responding law enforcement personnel that the suspect exited the rear of the store and fled on foot into the woods with the stolen merchandise. Deputies were able to observe the path the suspect utilized in the snow and advised other responding officers of what direction the suspect was traveling in. Shortly after, members of the NYSP conducted a citizens stop of a male fitting the suspect's description near the intersection of Gifford Rd and W Liberty St. The male was detained and further investigation ensued.
Further investigation was conducted by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit and as a result, Michael R. Parsons (26), was charged with Grand Larceny in the fourth degree, an E Felony. Parsons was transported to the LEB for processing. Parsons was released and issued an Appearance Ticket, returnable to Rome City Court at a later date.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted by members of the NYSP.
