Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol and the members of the Sheriff’s Office are providing safety tips to community members as we usher in the New Year.

· Don’t drink and drive

· Monitor your alcohol intake

· Do not serve minors alcohol

· If possible, avoid driving between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. on New Year’s Eve

· When walking, use main roads. New Year’s Eve and day are among the most deadly days for pedestrians

· Keep your phone charged so you are prepared in the event of an emergency

· Expect to see Law Enforcement on the roadways with increased patrols and sobriety checkpoints
