According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, On 01/09/2025 at approximately 9:30 AM, deputies responded to a larceny complaint on S. James St in the City of Rome. It was reported by Verizon employees that a length of wire was cut from a telephone pole. Upon further investigation, Brett M. Parks, 37 of Blossvale was located nearby with the length of wire actively burning. Parks was detained and transported to the LEB where he was ultimately arrested for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree, a class E felony. He was processed and released on an appearance ticket directing his return to Rome City Court on a later date.
