According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, a Utica man was arrested upon completion of a prison contraband investigation, that occurred at the Oneida County Correctional Facility.

On February 1st, 2025, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Road Patrol Division responded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility, regarding a prison contraband complaint. The investigation was turned over to members of the Criminal Investigation Unit. As a result, Anthony Nguyen (28), was arrested and charged with Promoting Prison Contraband in the first degree, a class D felony. Nguyen was processed at the Kurt B. Wynman Law Enforcement Building and remains incarcerated at the Oneida County Correctional Facility, awaiting Centralized Arraignment.
