According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on February 7th, 2025, at around 3:53 p.m., Road Patrol Deputies responded to Limberlost Rd in the Town of Kirkland for a reported one-car motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Patrol Deputies determined after investigation that Douglas Maxam (58) of Kirkland, the operator of a 2013 Kia Optima, was driving on Limberlost Rd when he lost control of his vehicle, causing him to leave the roadway. As the vehicle exited the roadway, it struck a culvert pipe, coming to a rest in the ditch. Kirkland Auto towed the vehicle from the scene. Maxam was transported to the Wynn for non-life-threatening injuries received from the accident.

Patrol Deputies were assisted on the scene by the Clinton Fire Department and COVAC.
