According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol on 02/14/2025 at approximately 1:32 AM Deputies responded to a property damage accident on State Route 8.

State Route 8 northbound traffic was closed at Oneida Street in the Town of Paris as a result of Operator Eric Wise (of Saint Clair Pennsylvania) losing control of the 2021 Mack Tractor Trailer while traveling northbound due to slippery road conditions and unsafe speeds for the weather conditions. This incident resulted in the northbound lane of travel being closed and the southbound lane being temporarily closed so crews could remove the Tractor Trailer from the ditch. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by New York State Department of Transportation, Clayville Fire Department, Sauquoit Fire Department, and New York State Police.

The Tractor Trailer was towed from the scene by Clinton Collision. As of 02/14/2025 at 05:25 AM Route 8 has been re-opened.
