According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, two Rome men were arrested on March 2nd, 2025, following a suspicious activity complaint.
On March 2nd, 2025 at approximately 01:18am, members of the Road Patrol Division were canvassing the area of Lawrence Street, in the City of Rome, due to an ongoing issue with theft and vandalism to Verizon Communication's copper wiring. As the Road Patrol Sergeant conducted his neighborhood canvass, he saw what appeared to be two males on the shoulder of the roadway acting in a suspicious manner. A citizens stop was conducted and it was discovered that approximately 200 feet of Verizon Communication copper wiring had been damaged and the two males were found in possession of burglar tools.
The investigation was turned over to members of the Criminal Investigation Unit and a result as a result, Dustyn Enslin (35) and Antonio Gualandi (36), were arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief in the second degree, a class D felony, Attempted Grand Larceny in the fourth degree, a class A Misdemeanor, Criminal Tampering in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor and Possession of Burglar Tools, a class A misdemeanor. Both Gualandi and Enslin were processed at the Kurt B. Wynman Law Enforcement Building, transported to the Oneida County Correctional Facility, and are currently awaiting Centralized Arraignment.
