According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, one person was sent to the hospital following a two-car motor vehicle accident on South James Street in the City of Rome.

At about 10:38 P.M. on March 7th, 2025 a black Nissan Maxima driven by Nancy Lumbrazo (61) of Rome was traveling southbound on South James Street when she crossed the center line and struck a marked Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle traveling northbound. The patrol vehicle was operated by Sergeant Noah Danquer. After the collision, both vehicles excited the eastern shoulder and came to rest in a ditch on the side of the roadway. Lumbrazo was treated and released on scene. Sergeant Danquer was transported to a local hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the accident is ongoing and future charges are possible upon the completion of the investigation.

The Onieda County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the New York State Police, Rome Police Department, Rome Fire Department, AmCare Ambulance, Gurley & Fleet towing and Mike Jr’s towing.
