According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Town of Lee man has been arrested for having sexual contact with an underage female child.

The investigation began on March 21, 2025, when the Child Advocacy Center was notified that an adult male had subjected a female child to sexual contact. The case was assigned to Utica Police Investigator Ryan Kelly, who was assisted by Sheriff’s Investigator Mark R. Chrysler and Rome Police Detective Alexis Perry, all of whom are assigned to the Child Advocacy Center.

The investigation revealed that 37-year-old Robert Didomenico had allegedly subjected the child to sexual contact earlier in the week. A search warrant for the Town of Lee residence was drawn and executed, with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office Forensic Identification Unit and Road Patrol, and more evidence was found corroborating the allegations.

On March 24, 2025, Investigators Kelly and Chrysler located Didomenico in the City of Utica and arrested him on one count of Rape in the 3rd Degree, a Class E Felony, and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Didomenico was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where he was processed. After processing, Didomenico was taken to the Sheriff’s Correctional Facility where he was arraigned at CAP Court and held on $30,000 cash bail.

An Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the child and services have been offered to the victim by the Child Advocacy Center.
