According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M Maciol, on…
According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M Maciol, on April 8th, 2025 a search warrant was executed at 2 Kennedy Plaza apartment 711 in the City of Utica relative to narcotics trafficking. Investigators with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit charged Michael J Griggs with several narcotics related offenses.
Through the course of the investigation, investigators learned that Griggs was distributing cocaine from his apartment within Kennedy Plaza High-rise. Subsequent to the investigation cause was developed to execute search warrants at the apartment and on Griggs person relative to the narcotics trafficking.
Following the execution of the search warrants, over 28 grams of cocaine, packaging materials, and scales were seized.
Griggs was charged with:
Criminal Possession of a controlled substance 3rd (Intent to Sell) – B Felony
Criminal Possession of a controlled substance 3rd (Weight) – B Felony
Criminal Possession of a controlled substance 7th – A Misdemeanor
Criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd - A Misdemeanor (2) counts
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit was assisted by the Utica Police Department Special Investigations Unit throughout the investigation. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit was also assisted by members from, Oneida County Forensic ID Unit OCSO Road Patrol, Utica Police Department Patrol Division, and members of the Utica Police GIVE Unit.
Additional charges may be pending in relation to this case.
