Oneida County Sheriff's Office Members Complete Statewide Phase 1 Civil Training Program
Sixty-nine sheriff’s office members from 34 different sheriff’s offices from around the state attended the New York State Sheriffs' Institute Civil School held recently, including Oneida County Officers Jason Silipo and Scott Eisenhart.
This training program is offered each year by the NYS Sheriffs' Institute and includes instruction on Introduction to Civil Law Enforcement, Review of Judgments, Service of Process, Income Executions, Property Executions, Orders of Arrest, Evictions, and Personal Communications.
All Sheriffs have civil law enforcement functions including the service of process and enforcement of judgments and other court orders and mandates. The school provides participants with training in the latest advances in civil law enforcement and a forum to discuss current civil law enforcement issues and share best practices.
The Sheriffs’ Institute is a not-for-profit corporation formed in 1979 to advance criminal justice education, prevent juvenile delinquency, and support victims of crime and their families.
