According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, Deputies were dispatched to the area of State Route 49 in the Town of Floyd for a reported drowning in the canal. Due to the nature of the incident, members of the Oneida County Criminal Investigation Unit and Forensic ID Unit, responded to the scene. Members of the Oneida County Dive team were able to recover the male from the canal. At this time, there is no further information, as the investigation is pending the identification of the male. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by members of the New York State Police, Floyd Fire Department, and the Medical Examiner's office.
