According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on May 19th, 2025, at about 8:19 PM, Deputies responded to the area of Route 5 and Martin Drive, in the Town of Kirkland, for a single vehicle motorcycle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Levi Learned, (19) of Eaton NY, was operating a blue 2007 Suzuki GSXR in a westerly direction on Route 5 in the Town of Kirkland. Due to unsafe speed, Learned, had lost control of the motorcycle when trying to navigate a curve in the roadway. He then exited the southern shoulder of the road and struck two mailboxes before coming to rest.

Learned was transported to the WYNN Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Clinton Fire Department, Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Kirkland Police, and Kirkland Auto.
