According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol; on…
According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol; on 6/12/25 just after 3:44pm, an Oneida County Sheriff’s Deputy assigned to the Waterville Field Office conducted a traffic stop on a Honda 4 Wheeler on South Main Street in the Village of Oriskany Falls. As a result of the traffic stop the operator, Kenneth M. Thurston of Oriskany Falls, fled the scene on foot and after a brief foot pursuit the suspect was apprehended when the Deputy deployed his Taser.
According to the Sheriff's Office; Thurston was actively resisting arrest by fighting with the Sheriff's Deputy, and a Good Samaritan stopped to assist with him being placed into custody. Further investigation into the traffic stop revealed that Thurston was in possession of 13.82 grams of Methamphetamine.
Thurston was transported to the Kurt Wyman Law Enforcement Building where he was charged with the following.
-Obstruction of Governmental Administration -Resisting Arrest-Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th-Numerous VTL violations
Thurston was transported to CAP Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due to return to the Town of Augusta Court at a later date. The Oneida County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division was assisted by the New York State Police, The Oriskany Falls Fire Department, and Main St Auto Care.
