According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on July 21, 2025 at around 12:00pm, Deputies responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident at the intersection of State Route 8 and Oneida Street located in the Town of Paris.

Upon investigation, it was determined that a 16 year old male, whose name will not be released due to his age, of Utica was operating a 2024 Taro motorcycle in an easterly direction on Oneida Street, approaching the State Route 8 intersection. At the same time, Susan Carney (62) of West Winfield was operating a 2009 Volkswagen in a southerly direction on State Route 8. The juvenile failed to yield the right of way to Carney, attempting to continue east, across State Route 8, and collided with the front of Carney's vehicle. The juvenile was airlifted to SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse for non-life threatening injuries, Carney didn't sustain any injuries.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Edwards Ambulance, Clayville Fire Department, and Mercy Flight.
