According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, a Verona woman was arrested following an investigation regarding a reported assault that was reported to have occurred in the Town of Verona.On August 15th, 2025, at or about 8:29 AM, Patrol Deputies responded to the Madison Oneida BOCES located at 4937 Spring Road in the Town of Verona for a reported assault that had occurred the day prior, August 14th, 2025. During their investigation Deputies learned that 53-year-old Mary Cabrera had subjected a juvenile male to unwanted physical contact during an escort which was injurious to the physical, mental, or moral welfare of the child.Due to the nature of the complaint, members of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Unit (CIU) became involved. Investigators charged Cabrera with one count of Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent or Physically Disabled Person in the 1st Degree, which is a Class E Felony.Cabrera was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in Verona Town Court on a later date and time.
