According to Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol, on September 6th, 2025, deputies arrested John D. Lindig Jr. (53) of Ilion for Disorderly Conduct (violation), Obstructing Governmental Administration (A Misdemeanor), and Resisting Arrest (A Misdemeanor) regarding an incident that took place in front of the Cliff's Gas Station in the Village of Clinton.
Deputies initially observed Lindig Jr. in the roadway acting disorderly, causing traffic issues, and attempting to take a construction cone. Deputies then made contact with the male who was intoxicated and continued to cause a public concern. When deputies attempted to put Lindig into custody he resisted and repeatedly attempted to prevent deputies from placing him in custody, causing multiple agencies to respond to the struggle. Lindig was arraigned in court and released with a future court date scheduled for the Town of Kirkland Court.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Kirkland Police Department, Clinton Fire Department, Central Oneida County Ambulance, and the New York State Police for their assistance with the incident.
