According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, a Rome man was arrested on September 19th, 2025, following a criminal mischief investigation. On September 17th, 2025, at approximately 10:13pm, the Road Patrol Division responded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility, located in the Town of Whitestown, regarding an inmate that caused damage to county property. Deputies were advised that an inmate intentionally caused damage to a cell door window. The repair estimate for the window exceeded two hundred fifty dollars.

The case was turned over to members of the Criminal Investigation Unit and as a result, Dillon M. Kotary (30), was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief in the third degree, a Class E Felony. Kotary was processed at the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building and remains in custody at the Oneida County Correctional Facility, awaiting arraignment on this charge.
