According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, the Sheriff's Office is investigating a multi-vehicle fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on State Route 12 in the Town of Boonville.

At around 4:06 PM a call was made to the Oneida County Emergency Services 911 Center regarding a motor vehicle accident involving four vehicles. Road Patrol Deputies, along with the Boonville Police Department and New York State Police responded to the scene. Due to the severity of the accident, State Route 12 was shut down for several hours and the New York State Department of Transportation was also requested to assist with the road closure.

An initial investigation shows that a 2011 Ford Taurus sedan, being operated by a 29 year old female, was stopped on the southbound side of State Route 12, waiting for northbound traffic to be clear in order to make a left turn into a residential driveway. While the Ford Taurus sedan was stopped it was struck from behind by a 2024 Chevrolet pickup truck, also being operated south bound, by an Edward Wolf, 75 years old, of Ohio NY. As a result of that collision the Ford Taurus Sedan was then propelled into the North bound lane of travel making contact with a Jeep Compass, being operated north bound, by a Thomas Kristoff, 59 years old, of Boonville NY. The Ford Sedan was then struck in the passenger side by a 2011 Ford F-350 dually pickup truck which was also towing a loaded small utility trailer, being operated north bound, by a Robert Perry, 54 years old, of Manorville NY, which resulted in the Ford pickup truck and Ford Sedan coming to rest in the ditch on the north side of State Route 12.

Boonville Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene and attempted life saving measures on the 29 year old female but she was ultimately pronounced deceased on scene. STAR Ambulance also responded and transported Wolf to the Wynn Hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition. Kristoff and Perry were both evaluated on scene and denied transport to the Hospital.

Due to the accident being a fatality the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit, along with the Forensic ID Unit and the Onondaga Medical Examiners Office responded to the scene. At this time the investigation is still ongoing, and more details maybe released at a later time. The deceased 29 year olds identity will also be released at a later time.
