Congratulations to Investigator David LaPlante on your retirement after more than 30 years of dedicated service with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office. Investigator LaPlante began as a part time Deputy in 1993 assigned to the Marine Unit and then was eventually appointed as a full time Deputy Sheriff assigned to the Road Patrol Division before being promoted to Investigator. Throughout his long career, he received numerous training certifications including NYS DCJS Master Instructor, General Topics Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor, and Physical Fitness Instructor along with many more. In addition to his most recent assignment in the Warrants Unit, he also served on the Marine & Snowmobile Patrol Units and the S.W.A.T. team. Investigator LaPlante was also the recipient of several prestigious awards including: the Gallantry Star, 3 Life Saving Awards, 3 Unit Citations, 3 Exceptional Service Awards, 2 Meritorious Awards, 10 Grand Cordon Awards, 3 Good Conduct Awards, 2 Certificates of Appreciation, 2 Drug Buster Awards, Honorable Service Award, Certificate of Merit, Ready Commendation, and Promotion of Grade.
