According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, a woman from the City of Utica was arrested regarding a criminal possession of stolen property complaint.
On October 20th, 2025, a Road Patrol Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a grey in color minivan, but as he approached the vehicle the driver fled. Deputies were advised that the vehicle in which the Deputy attempted to stop was stolen out of the City of Rome. Deputies searched the area for the vehicle and later located the vehicle on Humaston Road in the City of Rome after it had collided with a tree. The driver was identified as 39-year-old Carrie Presley. Presley was taken to Rome Health as a result of the crash. Due to the nature of the incident, the investigation was turned over to members of the Oneida County Criminal Investigations Unit (CIU).
On a later date, Investigators charged Presley with one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree pursuant to section 165.45(5) of the New York State Penal Law.
Presley was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Rome City Court on a later date and time.
