According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a…
According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Town of Paris man was arrested following a DWI investigation in the Town of Westmoreland.
On November 14th, 2025, at around 8:30 p.m., a Sergeant from the Road Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop after observing a traffic violation take place on State Route 26 in the Town of Westmoreland. After indicators of impairment were observed on scene, a Deputy assigned to the STOP DWI Unit responded to the traffic stop location to further the DWI investigation. Subsequent to an investigation, Garison Ely (Age 50) of Paris, NY, was arrested and charged with the following:
-(1) Count of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree 511(3a1), a Class E Felony. -(1) Count of Driving While Intoxicated 1192(3), an unclassified misdemeanor. -Several other traffic violations and traffic misdemeanors.
Ely was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing where he was ultimately held at the Oneida County Jail pending his arraignment in CAP Court.
