According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on November 22nd, 2025, at around 9:16 a.m., Road Patrol Deputies responded to the intersection of Blackmans Corners and Greenway Lowell Rd in the Town of Verona for a reported two-car motor vehicle accident with injuries. Patrol Deputies determined after investigation that Terry Reed (58) of Verona, was operating a 2007 GMC Sierra in a northerly direction on Reber Rd when he failed to stop at the stop sign, causing him to enter the roadway of Blackmans Corners Rd. After Reed entered the roadway, he struck a 2024 Toyota traveling west on Blackmans Corners Rd that was occupied by driver Tara Smith (36) of Durhamville and her two children. Smith’s vehicle then exited the roadway striking a stop sign on Greenway Lowell Rd, coming to a rest in the lawn of nearby residence. Rockers Auto and Pozzie’s Automotive towed the vehicles from the scene. Smith and her children were transported to SUNY Upstate for non-life-threatening injuries received from the accident. Reed was issued tickets returnable to Verona Town Court for a later date. Patrol Deputies were assisted on the scene by the Verona and Westmoreland Fire Department and AmCare.
