According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Vernon man has been arrested following a physical altercation.
On December 1, 2025, at around 7:00PM Road Patrol Deputies responded to 3310 Simmons Road, Town of Vernon, for a reported physical altercation involving a weapon. It was reported that a party on scene was acting erratically and pointed what was believed to be a handgun at two victims. The two victims then attempted to retreat into a nearby residence, however, the suspect advanced towards them with the weapon. A physical altercation then ensued between the suspect and one of the victims. The victim was able to get the weapon away from the suspect. It was then found that the weapon was a handgun or pistol style pellet gun.
Upon arrival Deputies were able to take the reported suspect into custody without issue. The suspect was then identified as Glenn A. Wallis, age 40, of the Town of Vernon. Wallis was then transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building.
As a result of the investigation Wallis was charged by Deputies with 2 counts of Menacing in the Second Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and 1 count of Harassment in the Second Degree, a Violation. A member of the Criminal Investigation Unit also charged Wallis with 1 count of Criminal Possession of Weapon in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony.
Wallis was then lodged and held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility to await CAP Court at a later time today, December 2, 2025.
