UPDATE At this time, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office is…
UPDATE
At this time, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office is no longer attempting to locate any unaccounted-for residents of the apartment complex.
One of the residents was located safe and was not present during this incident.
A second individual was located deceased in an apartment on the property. The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is currently being assisted by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office in an attempt to positively identify the deceased individual.
Once a positive identification and next of kin notification are complete, the name of the deceased individual will be released.

UPDATE TO FIRE 7108 ROME ORISKANY ROAD
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is currently on scene investigating a fire located at 7108 Rome Oriskany Road, Countryside Apartments, in the City of Rome. Upon arrival to the scene, the structure was fully involved.
Deputies along with the New York State Police immediately began to locate any residents that needed assistance with exiting the apartment complex. While doing so, an adult female with severe burn injuries was located. The female was transported to Wynn Hospital where her condition at this time is critical.
The Sheriff’s Office is still attempting to locate two residents who are unaccounted for.
The Sheriff’s Office assisted the Rome City Fire Department, the Stanwix Heights Fire Department, Oriskany Fire Department, Westmoreland Fire Department, Floyd Fire Department, Clark Mills Fire Department, Clinton Fire Department, Vernon Fire Department, Verona Fire Department, New London Fire Department, and AmCare Ambulance Service at the scene. The Red Cross was contacted and on scene assisting residents that have been displaced. At this time, the investigation is still ongoing and Rome Oriskany Road is still closed between Monument Road and Stanwix Ave to public traffic.
