According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on January 3rd, 2026 at around 7:18 P.M., Road Patrol Deputies responded to the area of State Route 365 just east of Greenway New London Rd in the City of Rome for a reported two-vehicle motor vehicle accident with injuries. Patrol Deputies determined after investigation that Roan Scott (22) of Rome, was operating a 2020 Mitsubishi in a westerly direction on State Route 365 when he failed to move to the right lane for a Rockers Auto, 2023 Ford tow truck which was attempting to winch a disabled vehicle out of the median and back onto the roadway. The Rockers Auto tow truck that was struck was operated by, Caleb Bush (19) of Oneida. Scott’s vehicle then spun around and partially exited the northern shoulder of the roadway, coming to rest facing eastbound. Rockers Auto towed Scott’s vehicle from the scene. Scott was transported to Wynn Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries received from the accident. Scott was issued tickets returnable to Rome City Court for a later date. Patrol Deputies were assisted on the scene by the Rome Fire Department, AmCare Ambulance and Rockers Towing.
