According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, a Village of New York Mills man was arrested after a domestic incident. On February 8th, 2026, Road Patrol Deputies responded to Wynn Hospital for reports of a victim that sustained serious injuries after a domestic incident. It was reported that on February 6th, 2026, there was a physical domestic dispute at a residence in the outer district of Rome. At the conclusion of the investigation, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit arrested Brian T. Morrissey, age 37, for Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A misdemeanor. Morrissey was processed at the LEB and held pending an arraignment in CAP Court. After arraignment Morrissey was remanded to the Oneida County Jail on $10,000 cash bail. An order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
