According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol,On 03/23/26 around 1:38 PM, a Patrol Deputy assigned to the Waterville Field Office conducted a traffic stop on State Route 8 in the Town of Paris.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as Brandon Barletta, 33 of West Winfield. During the investigation of the stop, a Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit with K-9 "Mastro" was dispatched and ultimately discovered in Barletta’s possession was a quantity of Methamphetamine.

Barletta was arrested and charged with the following:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Barletta was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building where he was processed and issued an appearance ticket for the charge. He was also issued multiple Uniform Traffic Tickets related to the stop.

He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Paris Court at a later date.

The Sheriff's Office Narcotics unit, as well as the New York State Police, assisted on scene.
