According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, two people suffered injuries as a result of a single motor vehicle accident on Mapledale Rd in the Town of Bridgewater.

Deputies responded to the area of Mapledale Rd in the Town of Bridgewater at approximately 3:41 PM on May 6th, 2026, for a reported vehicle in the ditch with numerous injuries. Upon arrival on scene, and subsequent to an investigation, it was determined that Jacob Land (21) of Leonardsville, NY, was operating a 1998 Buick sedan in a southern direction on Mapledale Rd in the Town of Bridgewater. Due to unsafe speeds for the road conditions, Land was unable to maintain control of the vehicle through a curve in the roadway, causing the vehicle to exit the roadway into the ditch, striking a culvert pipe. This resulted in the vehicle to roll over multiple times, causing injuries to the driver, as well as a passenger.

Land was transported by Edward's Ambulance to Wynn Hospital for suspected facial injuries, while the passenger, Miranda Raposo (20) of Bridgewater, NY, was transported by Bridgewater Ambulance to Wynn Hospital for suspected upper arm and shoulder injuries.

Citations will be issued as result of the motor vehicle accident.

Deputies were assisted on scene by Bridgewater Fire Department, Bridgewater Ambulance, Edward's Ambulance, and Kolor Khromatics Auto.
