This past Thursday, Chief Deputy Jon Owens, along with local leaders, joined officials from the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at the Utica 9/11 Memorial on Sherman Drive and Memorial Parkway to announce the upcoming event later this summer. The run will take place at 9:11 a.m. on August 16th as a tribute to the 25th anniversary of the attacks.

Since 9/11, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation has helped America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and helping America to Never Forget September 11, 2001.
