According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol an inmate at the Oneida County Correctional Facility has been arrested as the result of an Order of Protection Violation.

On June 8th , 2026 , Investigators assigned to the Criminal Investigation Unit were made aware that an inmate was contacting a protected party of an order of protection by phone while incarcerated at the Oneida County Correctional Facility. During the investigation it was discovered that the inmate had contacted the protected party 89 times in direct violation of the order of protection that was put in place on May 27th , 2026.

On June 12th, 2026, inmate Matthew Masse, age 35 of Rome, was charged with one count of Aggravated Family Offense, a class E Felony and one count of Criminal Contempt in the 2nd degree, a class A Misdemeanor. Masse was then turned back over to Corrections staff to await arraignment in CAP Court. Masse was being held at the Correctional Facility for a domestic charges out of the City of Rome.
