On June 21st, 2026, at around 06:30 pm, a Town of Deerfield resident reported that he had sighted a bear while walking the trails at the Town of Deerfield Wilderness Park and Trails located at 6329 Walker Road in the Town of Deerfield. The bear was sighted by the Western portion of the trails, near the entrance to the looped trail which is the Northwest most trail in the park. The bear was not aggressive towards him, and the bear had run across the trail away from the resident after being observed. Members of the public should use caution and be aware of their surroundings if utilizing the trails.
