According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Camden man was arrested following a domestic incident in the Town of Camden.
On June 17th, 2026, Road Patrol Deputies responded to a call of a structure fire in the Town of Camden. Shortly after that call was dispatched, a male arrived at the Camden Fire Station with burn injuries. The male was transported to Upstate Medical Center at that time.
Information was quickly gathered by Deputies on scene of the fire, which led Law Enforcement to believe that the fire was suspicious and possibly domestic related.
Due to the nature of the call, members of the Criminal Investigation Unit responded to the scene. Ultimately, it was determined that the fire was intentionally set, using gasoline as an accelerant, causing the home to be a total loss.
Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Angel M. Morales, 44, for Arson 3rd, which was effectuated on July 6th, 2026, upon the suspect's release from the hospital. Morales was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing and turned over the jail staff to await arraignment.
In accordance with New York State bail reform, Morales was released on his own recognizance after arraignment and is due back in court at a later date.
