According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on July 31st 2026, the Oneida County Sheriffs' Office Patrol Division and Warrants Unit, in conjunction with its personnel Deputized with the United States Marshal Service NY/NJ Reigonal Fugitive Task Force, which is comprised of members from the Oneida County Sheriffs' Office Warrants Unit, City of Utica Police Department, New York State Police Violent Felony Warrants Unit, Town of New Hartford Police Department, Oneida County Probation Office, and United States Marshals Service received a collateral lead from the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force from the Eastern District of Missouri.

This collateral lead contained information that, David E Lee Turner (46YOA), of East Prairie, Missouri, whom was wanted on an active violent felony warrant for Burglary in the 1st degree out of New Madrid County, Missouri, through investigation was confirmed to be a third-party vendor at the Oneida County-Boonville Fair. Following receipt of this information, Task Force Officers quickly responded, located, and took Turner into custody without incident.

Turner was transported to the Oneida County Jail where he was brought before Centralized Arraignment Proceeding and arraigned as a Fugitive from Justice Prior to Requisition, remanded to the Oneida County Jail and to return to Oneida County Court for further extradition proceedings at a later date.
