According to the Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, a City of Rome women was arrested after a domestic incident.

On August 6th, 2026, Road Patrol Deputies responded to Turin Road in the outer district of Rome for a domestic in progress. After making initial contact, Deputies cleared the residence but were called back a short time later. It was learned that after Deputies left, the suspect made unwanted physical contact with the victim and then spit on him.

Ultimately, Jennifer L. Pought, 56, was arrested on 1 count of Harassment 2nd, a violation. As there was an active refrain from order of protection for the benefit of the victim, Pought was also charged with 1 count of Criminal Contempt 1st, a class E felony.

Pought was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman law enforcement building, booked, and turned over to the Oneida County Jail to await arraignment.
