According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, a man from the Town of Lee was arrested following an investigation.

On July 14th, 2026, Deputies were dispatched to an address in the Town of Vernon for a complaint involving a physical altercation. Through the Deputies investigation they learned a female victim was subjected to unwanted sexual contact and was struck by a male during the course of a physical altercation.

Due to the nature of the complaint, the investigation was turned over to members of the Oneida County Criminal Investigative Unit (CIU). Investigators located the male from the town of Lee, 40-year-old Christopher Waller, and charged him with one count of forcible touching, a Class A misdemeanor pursuant to section 130.52(1) of the New York State Penal Law, and one count of Assault in the Third Degree, a Class A misdemeanor pursuant to section 120.00(1) of the New York State Penal Law. Christopher was then issued an appearance ticket returnable to Vernon Town Court on a later date and time.
