According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Rome man has been arrested for endangering the welfare of an underage female child.

The investigation began on September 15, 2026. The case was assigned to Oneida County Investigator Dillenbeck, who is assigned to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center. Investigator Dillenbeck’s Investigation found that Jeffrey Taylor, age 47, allegedly had inappropriate physical and electronic contact with a child less than 17 years old.

On October 5, 2026, Taylor was located at his residence by Investigator Dillenbeck and Investigator Brognano. Taylor was subsequently taken into custody. Taylor was lodged at the Oneida County Correctional Facility awaiting arraignment for 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both class A Misdemeanors.

Services have been offered to the victim by the Child Advocacy Center, and an Order of Protection was requested on behalf of the victim.
