According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Rome woman has been arrested for Possession of a Weapon charges in the Town of Westmoreland. On September 27th, 2026, Deputies conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law complaint on Scadden Road in the Town of Westmoreland. Deputies located Kira A. Stolo age 37 of Rome to be in the driver's seat of a Toyota SUV. Deputies were able to determine that Stolo did not possess a valid NYS driver's license and was a revoked driver. Due to Stolo being the sole occupant of the vehicle, the vehicle was to be towed from the scene, and an inventory search was to be conducted. Stolo obstructed the inventory search by closing the vehicle's door as deputies were attempting to conduct the search, then used her key fob to lock the doors of the vehicle while pushing her weight against the door of the vehicle. At this time Deputies took Stolo into custody for Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd (a Misdemeanor)

During the Inventory search, Deputies located a Billy Club inside the vehicle, and it was collected as evidence. Due to the nature of the complaint, the investigation of the weapon was turned over to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit.

On October 13th, 2026, Road Patrol Deputies assisted in locating Stolo at a residence in Westmoreland. Deputies took Stolo into custody and transported her to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building. Investigators charged Stolo with: Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree ( D Felony) Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree (A Misdemeanor)

Stolo was brought to the Oneida County Correctional Facility to await CAP court.
