According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on November 28th, 2024, at about 10:10 PM, Deputies responded to the area of Augusta Solsville Road in the Town of Augusta for a reported one car personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Dennis Carney, 20, of Bouckville NY, was operating a silver 2017 Chrysler 300 northbound on Augusta Solsville Road in the Town of Augusta. Carney failed to maintain his lane due to unsafe speed and slippery road conditions, causing him to lose control of his vehicle, entering a ditch on the western shoulder, where he then struck a culvert, ultimately causing the vehicle to come to rest shortly after

Carney was transported to Community Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Oriskany Falls Fire Department, Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and Merrill's Towing.
