According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 a Boonville man was arrested following a domestic dispute investigation that occurred at an address on State Route 294 in the Town of Boonville on December 3rd, 2024 at approximately 7:00 PM. Investigation found that at some point during the domestic incident, Hal C. Pickering Jr, age 21 of Boonville, NY became involved in a physical altercation with the victim and prevented the victim from leaving the residence. Pickering Jr. was later located by Deputies at the Tops Friendly Market in the Town of Camden where he was taken into custody without incident. Pickering Jr. was transported to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office where he was processed and charged with Unlawful Imprisonment in the second degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Harassment in the second degree, a violation. Pickering Jr. was held pending an arraignment in Oneida County CAP Court where he was later released on his own recognizance. An Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
