According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara, who is the Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center(CAC), a Camden man was arrested by members of the CAC on December 6, 2024. This arrest was the result of an investigation which had been initiated by a report made directly to the CAC on November 26, 2024 and which was assigned to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Melissa Bolton, who is assigned at the CAC. Through investigation it was learned that Patrick DeLong, age 40 of Camden and formerly of the Town of Annsville, had video recorded with a cell phone, a female child less than 17 years of age dressing and undressing fully in a bathroom at a residence in the Town of Annsville on September 30, 2024 where the victim had a reasonable expectation of privacy. This recording was done surreptitiously and without the knowledge or consent of the victim in this case. DeLong was arrested in the City of Rome by Sgt. Bolton and OCSO Inv. Nicholas Dean and held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility to await arraignment on the charge of Unlawful Surveillance in the Second Degree, a Class E Felony. An order of protection has been requested on behalf of the victim who has been offered services through the Child Advocacy Center.
