According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; a Yorkville man was arrested after an investigation into a domestic incident in the City of Rome.

On November 27, 2024, Road Patrol Deputies received a report regarding a subject leaving a recording device inside the victim's home without the victim's knowledge. It was reported that the victim had been threatened with the release of audio captured by the illegally placed device, should she not continue a relationship with the subject.

The investigation was turned over to the Domestic Violence Unit for further investigation. Upon completion of the investigation, Jeffery D. Gilmore, was arrested and charged with eavesdropping, a class E Felony.

Gilmore was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing.

Gilmore was held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility for arraignment.
