According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol; Road patrol deputies responded to a domestic in-progress on Turin Road in the City of Rome.

Per road patrol deputies' investigation, it was determined that Nicolas Kafont (34) of Rome ensued in a physical domestic with his wife with all eight of their children present at the time of the incident. Nicolas fled the residence prior to police arriving on the scene but was located shortly after in the Rome Wal-Mart parking lot where Nicolas was placed in custody without further incident.

Nicolas was transported to the Kurt Wyman Law Enforcement Building where he was processed and currently awaiting CAP Court. Nicolas has been charged with (8) counts of Endangering the welfare of a child (Misdemeanor), (3) counts of Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree (misdemeanor), Menacing in the 3rd degree (Misdemeanor), and Harassment in the 2nd degree (Violation).
