Saturday was a very difficult and sad day for the members of the Barneveld Fire Department as their fire station collapsed due to the weight of the snow. Thankfully, there were no injuries and the fire apparatus was saved. The Sheriff’s Office has had a longstanding strong friendship with the Barneveld Fire Department and their station was also home to one of our field offices that serves the northern parts of our county. Our thoughts and full support of whatever we can do to assist, is extended to the Barneveld Fire Department.

The amazing community resiliency, strength, and brother & sister-hood of the volunteer fire service was on full display last evening at the Trenton Joint Fire District 2025 Installation Banquet that was held at Harts Hill Inn. Sheriff Maciol had the honor of administering the Oath of Office to the newly elected officers of the Holland Patent Hose Company and the Barneveld Fire Department. Honorary Sheriff’s Credentials were also presented to Michael “Benny” Bennison for his 50 years of service with the Holland Patent Hose Company.
