According to the Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, a Rome woman was arrested on February 27, 2025, stemming from a physical altercation.
On January 30th, 2025, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Road Patrol Division responded to Madison-Oneida BOCES in the Town of Verona for a large physical altercation involving at least seven students. Upon deputies arrival, they observed a large altercation in the main lobby of the school, with multiple staff and SPO attempting to separate the parties. The school had to be placed into a Hold in Place until the altercation was terminated by staff and law enforcement. Subsequent to the investigation, deputies concluded that Teiana M. Fancher (18) of Rome and 6 other juveniles, who will not be named due to their age, engaged in physical fighting and did not terminate the fight upon direction by staff and law enforcement.
As a result, following an investigation, Teiana Fancher was arrested and charged with (1) count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child PL 260.10, (1) count of Obstructing Governmental Administration PL 195.05, (1) count of Unlawful Assembly PL 240.10, (1) count of Criminal Nuisance in the Second Degree PL 240.45, (1) count of Harassment in the Second Degree PL 240.26, (1) count of Disorderly Conduct PL 240.20. Fancher was transported to the Oneida County Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building and processed. Fancher will appear on said charges in the Town of Verona Court.
Additionally, four other juveniles were charged with multiple charges pertinent to their involvement and are set to appear at a later date and time at Oneida County Juvenile Probation.
