According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on April 4, 2025, at about 8:07 PM, Deputies responded to Old River Road in the Town of Marcy for a reported two car personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Evelyn Surace, (56) of Floyd NY, was operating a white 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee in a northerly direction on Oriskany Road in the Town of Marcy. Surace failed to yield to the right of way at a stop sign, entering Old River Road where she struck a silver 2008 Toyota Rav4 headed south bound on Old River Road, operated by a Matthew Garrabrant, (22) of New Hartford NY.

Surace was transported to Rome Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Stittville Fire Department, Kunkel Ambulance, New York State Police, Cushman’s Auto, and Delahunt Auto.
