According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, a Rome man was arrested on May 14th, 2025, following a burglary investigation.
On March 17th, 2024, at approximately 3:30am, the Road Patrol Division responded to a residence, located in the Town of Annsville, regarding a suspicious activity complaint. It was discovered that two males and a female were seen loading multiple reels of Copper Clad Steel Wire onto a utility trailer, after having an issue with the utility trailer and seeking assistance. Deputies were advised the utility trailer was hooked to a red Ford F-150 pickup truck. Deputies secured one reel of Copper Clad Steel Wire which was left behind.
On March 17th, 2024, at approximately 08:41am, the Road Patrol Division responded to Kris-Tech Wire, located on Mill Pond Way in the Town of Annsville, regarding a burglary complaint. Further investigation lead Deputies to discovering multiple reels of Copper Clad Steel Wire were stolen from Kris-Tech Wire. It was later discovered the suspects possibly used a red pickup truck and utility trailer to commit the burglary.
The investigation was turned over to members of the Criminal Investigation Unit and as a result, George J. Wishart Jr (45), was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree, a class E Felony. Wishart was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building to be processed. Wishart was issued an Appearance Ticket, released, and is to appear in Annsville Town Court at a later date.
